MIM-1 is RASSVET DOCKING AND CARGO MODULE

Soyuz MS-15 commander cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka is checking the docking mechanism to gain access to the hatch of the newly attached Soyuz MS-16,  and ready to meet the new ISS crew.

Rassvet MIM-1, docking and cargo module, index: 521GK, serial number 1 - a module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS), created by RSC Energia by order of the Federal Space Agency of Russia on the basis a ready-made building for the previously planned scientific and energy module

The module is designed for docking the Soyuz and Progress spacecraft to the ISS from the Zarya FGB (with the possibility of refueling the ISS). The module's pressurized compartment contains five universal workstations for conducting biotechnological and materials science experiments. The development cost was about 200 million US dollars.
