Document as an ID for the award of order of Red Banner N 96, given to commander of 27 division of 5th Eastern Army Alexander Pavlov, 7.5”x6.5”, with the letterhead Revolutionary Military Council of 5th Army, signed by Tukhahevsky, also signed by Smirnov, the member of Revvoensovet of 5th Arm. Pavlov was also arrested and executed in 1937.

Michail Tukhachevsky (1893-1937), was a leading Soviet military leader and theoretician from 1918 to 1937. He commanded the Soviet Western Front in the Soviet-Polish War of 1920–1921 and served as chief of staff of the Red Army from 1925 through 1928. In 1935, he was made a Marshal of the Soviet Union. During the Stalin’s Purges in June 1937 we was arrested along with other top Red Army commanders on charges with conspiracy with Germany. All eight were convicted and executed.
